After the highly successful $750 Million Box Office of the Colombia Pictures / Marvel Studios co-production, Venom starring Tom Hardy exited the theaters in November of 2018, the Home Entertainment marketing group was on an early sprint to release the movie on Blu-ray and Digital in December for Holiday gifting.  The Digital team quickly used their social media listening tools to dig into the what people were saying about the movie on social media and came up with 2 key insights: The marketing was taking itself to seriously and that this movie is a romantic comedy between the protagonist, Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote that takes over his body, Venom.  


Our digital marketing strategy was simple: to create super fun and engaging content themed around the relationship between Eddie and Venom overlaid with holiday content to convert sales.  We formed a symbiotic relation with our publicity team to generate online partners to premiere this content and the results highly exceeded our engagement and sales goals.
